Undara Lava Lodge 
A scenic 4 hour drive inland from the coast of North Queensland brings you to the Undara Lava Lodge. The lodge is situated 275 kilometres from Cairns on sealed roads (all except the last 7 kilometres), and all accessible by conventional vehicle.
Set on the eastern edge of the Gulf Savannah, Undara Lava Lodge is 2,500 feet above sea level and enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year. With minimal humidity, the climate is very pleasant with warmer days and cooler evenings.
This North Queensland Outback accommodation offers guests a chance to visit a bygone era with authentic turn-of-the-century railway carriages that have been beautifully restored and now rest under tall shady gum trees alongside an old teamsters trail.

Accommodation
Guests of Undara Lava Lodge have a choice of affordable accommodation, ranging from the Swags Tent Village to Ensuite Carriages & Pioneer Settlers Huts.
Carriages: Turn of the 20th Century Queensland railway carriages lovingly restored to their former glory. Charming, compact, comfortable, watch wildlife and enjoy the restful bush sounds from the shaded decks. Bedding is 1 Double Bed OR 2 Single Beds. Some carriages have ensuites. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children. Single, Twin & Family options are available.
Stockmans Quarters: Dormitory style accommodation set under its own sail. Very private. Especially popular with budget travellers, social and study groups. Central amenities block with hot and cold showers. Dedicated camp kitchen, free gas BBQ, picnic tables and chairs. Bedding is 1 Bunk Bed + 1 Single Bed. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults & Children.
Swags Tent Village: Large and comfortable permanent tents in a shady bush setting. Central amenities block with hot and cold showers, practical camp kitchen, electric hot plate, free gas BBQ, picnic tables and chairs. Bedding is 2 Bunk beds + 2 Single beds. Maximum room capacity is 6 Adults & Children. Options for 2, 4 & 6 people are available.
Pioneer Settlers Hut: Set in the Savannah Woodland however still close to Undara Central offering the most modern accommodation. The huts offer air conditioning, bathrooms, private veranda, linen, tea & coffee making facilities and a fridge. Bedding is 1 Queen Bed and 1 Sofa Bed. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults & Children.

Mitchell's Deck: A place for dining reading or making new acquaintances.
The Fettlers Iron Pot Bistro: Serves healthy country fare and the bar has a great range of Australian wines.
Facilities
Daily tours to visit the incredible lava tubes, wildlife spotlighting walks, a sunset tour, Kalkani Crater tour, self guided walking trails and more.
Award winning and highly qualified Savannah Guides conduct Lava Tube tours from the Lodge, offering a unique insight into the geology, ecology, local history and bushcraft of the region. The national parks conservation and land management plan dictates that for the safety of visitors and the conservation of the fragile Undara Lava Tube environment, the only way to see a Lava Tube is on a guided tour run by a Savannah Guide.

Additional Information
Children: 3 years and under are free of charge. Children 4-14 years are charged at the child rate. Cots are available at an additional charge payable direct to the property.
