Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge

Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge is located 300km west of Cairns, a 40 minute flight away. This traditional outback Queensland accommodation is located on a spectacular site high above the Mitchell River. The Homestead and ten guest Quarters caters to a maximum of 20 guests, providing an unparalleled outback experience that brings together wilderness, wildlife and a hint of luxury.

In combining the rich heritage of Australia's rural history and classic outback cattle station life with a premium resort experience, Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge provides visitors with a unique opportunity to engage with Australia's heartland. Guests will be able to immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of vast landscapes and engage in activities that will showcase legendary outback life and the experiences of outback stockman.

Access to Wrotham Park Lodge is via Cairns Airport, with a connecting private charter, scheduled flight or helicopter transfers to Wrotham Park Lodge's private airstrip. The self drive journey to Wrotham Park Lodge requires a four-wheel drive vehicle as some sections of road are unsealed. The drive takes approximately 4.5 hours from Cairns.

Upon arrival at the Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge the vehicle will be valet parked for the duration of your stay, as guest vehicles cannot be used on the Station's private roads.

Accommodation

Guest accommodations are stockman's quarters meets comfort with touches inspired by the traditions of the landed gentry - leather arm chairs and bed bolsters, shaded verandahs with day beds and a squatters chair. With the giant waves of colour outside, in the classic big blue sky and red earth that characterise the outback, interior tones are muted, charcoal, earth and harvest.

Quarters: 10 premium guest quarters are situated along the escarpment with views overlooking the Mitchell River. In harmony with the outback environment, the guest Quarters are visually spectacular and generous in size, boasting a large deck for the ultimate enjoyment of the outback views. Bedding is 1 King Bed
OR 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults.

Dining

Wrotham Park Lodge offers excellent food and wine. Dining at Wrotham will be based on a gourmet interpretation of traditional country fare, a modern style of dining that echoes stockman on the muster trail gathering round-the-camp-fire to share stories and a meal. Station Managers will join guests on some of the dinner-party style evenings. Local produce will be highlighted throughout Wrotham's menu, including AACO's premium grade beef, the world-renowned '1824' brand. The tariff includes breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

Breakfast: Kick-start the day with a hearty breakfast of freshly cooked bacon, sausages and chops, a 'Gulf Country Omelette' or eggs cooked perfectly to your liking. Treat yourself to the 'Pancake of the Day', or choose from the more refined selection of Indulgent Breakfast, fresh fruits, cereals and freshly baked pastries, muffins and breads. Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 9.30am

Lunch: Simple and refreshing, the lunch menu offers a light reprieve from the warm conditions outdoors. The menu changes daily to offer variety during your
stay and to ensure your dining experience is tempting to your taste buds. Enjoy a Ploughman's Buffet, table d' hote menu or perhaps order a Stockman's Indulgence Picnic Hamper to accompany you in the great outdoors. Lunch is served between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

Dinner: Each evening commences at the Homestead with pre-dinner drinks and canapes, while enjoying the striking sunset. Sunset canapes commence at 6.30pm.

The dinner menu changes each night, to offer a variety of both traditional and contemporary dining experiences including a four course table d' hote menu, a Bush Banquet or a gourmet barbeque. After dinner, you may wish to retire to the deck to gaze at the stars, relax around the campfire or enjoy a nightcap in the guest lounge.

Private dining is also available on request for those who desire a more intimate evening or for special occasions.

Bar & Lounge: On the edge of the Mitchell River, the guest lounge and bar area offers views of the majestic river, rugged Australian bushland and striking escarpment reflecting brilliant red and gold sunsets. The lounge features an open bar stocked with a range of refreshing beverages. Offering a quality selection of Australian wines and boutique beers, as well as selected spirits and liqueurs.

Facilities

Emulating timber slab houses with wrap-around verandahs, the Homestead pays tribute to Queensland's outback architecture, its dining and living area, library and bar are styled on pioneer designs and furnishings - all with a modern twist. A feature of the outdoor living area is an oversized raised platform ideal for dusk drinks and wildlife watching. Here comfortable lounge seating surrounds the cosmopolitan version of a camp-fire and the location is perfect for viewing brilliant red sunsets as well as taking in the sparkling velvet of the outback night sky.
